Teams will be seeded at a particular level (7U-13U) and division (D1/D2/D3) based on the criteria listed below.
Teams that are tied together at a certain step, advance together at that step, and cannot be seeded lower than all other teams that did not advance through that step.
Teams must play a minimum of six (6) games. Teams who forfeit one (1) game automatically fall to the lowest position within a group of tied teams and cannot pass up teams that did not forfeit a game. Teams that forfeit two (2) games are ineligible for the playoffs.
Seeding Order and Tie-Breakers
1) Overall Win Percentage (OWP)
2) Two undefeated teams that played unequal # of games skip to step 6
3) Team that is undefeated H2H against ALL tied teams with same OWP
4) H2H (two teams only)
5) Highest # of wins (i.e. 6-2 beats 5-1-2)
6) Average Strength of Schedule (ASOS)
7) Average Strength of Victory (ASOV)
8) Coin Flip
Average Strength of Schedule (ASOS): Calculated by adding the total number of wins of your opponents and dividing by the total number of games in your record (6,7 or 8). If playing an opponent in a higher division, their wins will be multiplied by 1.25. If playing a team in a lower division, those win will be multiplied by .75.
Average Strength of Victory (ASOV): Calculated the same as ASOS but only counting the wins of the teams you beat (with same division modifiers) divided by the total number of games in your record (6, 7, or 8).
